Ok so in the beginning I did not like blogger...probably because I never took two seconds to get used to it:-) Well as you can see I just figured out how to add pictures to this blog. I randomly chose this one of me and my younger sister Jami, she is behind me and I am the one in the front. This picture was actually taken a few years ago, wow time really flies!

Well I am still waiting and praying to be accepted to Newlife. Krystina the director of the school told me that she'd be making acceptance decisions sometime around August/September. I applied for the March 2008 semester for the two year associates of midwifery program. I have been waiting a long time to get into this school I discovered it a few years ago while searching the internet for a way to combine missionary work and midwifery and vwahla I found NISM(Sp? hahah wow thats a weird word to spell). I applied a year in advance therefore I am still waiting :-) But I know it will all come in God's timing and if I learn anything from this it'll definitely be the virtue of patience lol!

I think I am starting to like this blogspot a little more each time I use it :-)

Hi Shayla,
thanks for your comment on my blog :) Just give it some time, and I know you will learn to love blogger. Especially if you use slide.com and dropshots.com They let you do videos and cool photostrips.

I tried to comment on your zanga site, but i am not a member so I couldn't. (But I will check it as well as your blog)

That is so great that God has laid moms and babies around the world on your heart already. I know that you will fall in love with the Filipinas that come to our clinic, they are absolutely amazing women, and I enjoy myself immensely working with them.

Looks like you are already well on your way to being prepared to come here! Keep reading away at midwifery books (especially the ones on the Newlife site). You will be thankful later when you get here. Awesome deal on your doppler! I don't have one yet, but plan to get one someday soon :)

If you have questions let me know. My email address is on my blog.

Love,
Jenny

Dear Shayla,

Sounds like you would fit in at this school very well! :-) I'm in portland doing the orientation for the school right now... with seven of my classmates. It is such a good thing to get to know them before we head to the archapelagos! That way we aren't overwhelmed with the sights and smells and heat AND trying to get to know one another!
I hope you get accepted and that you will be joining us come spring!
God bless,
Stephanie
